The shift from gas to electric vehicles has only begun, and the market for electric off-road vehicles continues to grow each year.

Consumers have taken notice of the benefits that electric UTVs provide over gas-powered models, and manufacturers have responded with more and more electric options to meet the growing demand.

These days there are just enough electric side-by-sides and UTVs out there to make narrowing down the best choice for you a little tough.

This guide will help you do just that in detailing the overall best electric UTV for 2023 along with five runners up.

Best Electric UTV For 2023

We’ll start with runner-up #6, saving the best for last in working our way down to the #1 best overall electric UTV for 2023.

#6 – Hisun Sector E1

If you’re not familiar with Hisun, this review of Hisun UTVs will bring you up to speed on who they are and the quality of their vehicles.

The Sector E1 is Hisun’s electric UTV model, and it’s about the cheapest true utility vehicle you’ll find right now.

It is powered by a 48V motor with a max output of around 30 horsepower, and boasts pretty impressive ability when it comes to towing, hauling, climbing hills, and tackling rough terrain.

It doesn’t offer the same off-road capabilities as some of the higher quality electric UTVs, but it’s not all that far off.

And the Sector E1 comes loaded with accessories that make it off-road ready right out of the box.

This model is unique in that it’s one of the few electric UTVs to be equipped with dry cell batteries, which are a step up from lead acid but a step below lithium ion.

Hisun states this model gets an impressive battery range of 42 miles between charges, but a full review of the Sector E1 shows this to be overstated and the actual range is closer to 30  miles – which is still solid.

PRICE: $13,199
BATTERY TYPE: Dry Cell
BATTERY RANGE: 30 miles
HORSEPOWER: 30 HP
TOP SPEED: 25 MPH
DRIVE SYSTEM: 2WD/4WD

#5 – Intimidator Classic EV

Like the rest of the Intimidator UTV models, the Classic EV is built like a tank and is one of the biggest overall electric models.

Intimidator UTVs are about as American-made as American-made gets these days, manufactured at Intimidator headquarters in Batesville, Arkansas.

Their electric offering, the Classic EV, makes use of lead acid batteries that get an unimpressive range of 15 miles between charges.

But with 30 HP, 4WD and a locking differential – this model makes for one of the best working electric UTVs you’ll find.

It will tackle any working task you throw at it, climb any hill, and make it through pretty much any terrain.

PRICE: $19,199
BATTERY TYPE: Lead Acid
BATTERY RANGE: 10-15 miles
HORSEPOWER: 30 HP
TOP SPEED: 23 MPH
DRIVE SYSTEM: 2WD/4WD w/ locking differential

#4 – American Landmaster AMP 4×4

American Landmaster is another American manufacturer, making their UTVs in the state of Indiana.

They offer five different electric models including a couple of the best 4 seater electric UTVs, with the AMP 4×4 being the top option among them.

The Landmaster AMP 4×4 makes use of lithium ion batteries which get an impressive battery range of 50 miles between charges – one of the tops in the industry.

This model is powered by a 18 kW AC motor, which can produce around 25 horsepower and has no issue motoring through mud, snow, and most rugged terrain when you throw it in 4×4.

#3 – Tracker EV IS

Tracker is famous for their boats, but in recent years has launched a successful line of utility side-by-sides.

Reviews of Tracker UTVs show them to be some of the more underrated in the industry, and their best electric option is the Tracker EV IS.

The Tracker EV IS is powered by a 72V motor, and as far as electric UTVs go it makes one of the more impressive maximum power outputs in the industry at 38 HP.

This two-seater is one of the more compact electric models, making it a good fit for tight trails and wooded areas.

It does make use of lead acid batteries which only get a range of around 16 miles between charges, but when you throw it in 4WD it can go pretty much anywhere within reason.

It’s one of the cheapest electric UTVs, and for the performance it provides, makes an excellent value.

BATTERY TYPE: Lead Acid
BATTERY RANGE: 16 miles
HORSEPOWER: 38 HP
TOP SPEED: 25 MPH
DRIVE SYSTEM: 2WD/4WD

#2 – Polaris Ranger EV

The Polaris Ranger EV has actually been discontinued as of 2023 to make room for Polaris’ next great electric UTV and the number one option on our list, which we’ll get to shortly.

But as the best-selling electric UTV of all time, the Polaris Ranger EV really paved the way in the electric UTV industry.

It got its start back around 2010, and has seen a series of upgrades and tweaks each year as technology has advanced.

The Ranger EV makes use of lead acid batteries, which are not ideal, but makes up for it with its overall well-roundedness.

This model makes around 30 HP, which is about average for electric UTVs, but offers excellent low-end torque.  When you put it in 4WD, there’s not many places it can’t go.

Battery range is solid at around 25 miles between charges.

Though used models will be the only Ranger EV’s available these days, their reasonable prices, solid overall performance and high quality builds still make them the second-best electric UTV option available.

PRICE: $14,699 (2022 MSRP)
BATTERY TYPE: Lead Acid
BATTERY RANGE: 20-25 miles
HORSEPOWER: 30 HP
TOP SPEED: 27 MPH
