Electric utility vehicles are becoming increasingly popular among outdoor enthusiasts as they provide a number of benefits over gas-powered models.

These benefits include:

  • Much quieter
  • Less maintenance
  • Better for the environment
  • Less-expensive to own long-term

But electric models do have their drawbacks, with one of those being that many of them are a little underpowered.  As such, most of the best electric UTVs are limited to two seats.

If you’re interested in a two-seater, you should probably ensure it’s an electric 4×4 UTV if you plan to do any off-road riding.

But for those interested in a 4 seater electric UTV, you’re in luck.  Because there are some crew options out there, and this guide will give you an overview of the seven best electric UTV 4 seaters.

  • HuntVe Terlingua All Electric 4×4 Crew
  • HuntVe Game Changer Crew 4×4
  • HuntVe Switchback Hybrid-Electric Crew 4×4
  • American LandMaster EV Crew
  • Tracker Offroad EV iS
  • Volcon Stag
  • Vanderhall Brawley

You can see how the electric 4 seaters stack up with their gas-powered counterparts in this guide to the best gas-powered 4 seater side-by-sides as well.

HuntVe Terlingua All Electric 4×4 Crew

The HuntVe Terlingua is one of three electric crew models offered by HuntVe, who is based in Texas and strictly focuses on electric utility vehicles.

As a crew model it seats four passengers and also features a rear dump bed.

It is powered by dual drive motors which provide an excellent power output of 40 HP and give it a top speed of 25 mph.

With a vehicle weight capacity of 1,200 lbs, it has enough power and low-end torque to conquer hills and trails even with a full load of riders.

The four wheel independent double-wishbone suspension offers a smooth ride in most terrains, and the four all-terrain tires provide good traction in mud, snow, and steep terrain.

Pros

  • Onboard battery charger
  • Dual motors provide great power
  • Optional electronic power steering

Cons

  • Lead Acid Batteries
  • Limited dealer network
  • Cold temps can lower battery range

HuntVe Game Changer Crew 4×4

The most popular of HuntVe’s selection of electric crew utility models is the Game Changer Crew 4×4.  It offers room for four passengers as well as a rear cargo bed.

It boasts a dual drive motor system, with one motor supplying power to the front and another supplying power to the rear.  This gives it some of the best power in the industry at 40 HP.

Even with four adults riding, it should have no issues with mud, sand, snow, or hilly terrain.  It tops out at a speed of 25 mph but will climb hills at a slower pace depending upon the payload.

While it gets a battery range of 20 to 25 miles per charge, it includes an onboard battery charger to give riders the ability to charge it in the field and extend this range.

Pros

  • One of more powerful electric UTVs
  • Made and based in Texas
  • On-board battery charger extends range

Cons

  • Limited dealer network
  • Dump bed doesn’t tilt very high

HuntVe Switchback Hybrid-Electric Crew 4×4

The HuntVe Switchback Hybrid-Electric Crew 4×4 is one of the few electric hybrid models available.  It boasts four seats and seat belts, plus a rear cargo bed.

It features the same 72V dual drive motor system as its electric siblings, but also includes a 460cc Gas 4-cycle range assist generator to feed the batteries electricity when running low.

The Switchback Hybrid model offers a fully electric range of around 15 miles, and with the push of a button the gas assist generator provides an added 50+ plus miles of range.

And you won’t scare off the wildlife when activating the gas generator, as it is much more quiet than an actual gas engine.

The power and speed are the same in either mode, with this model having no issue with rough or wet terrain.

Pros

  • Powerful dual motors
  • Excellent range with gas assist generator
  • Rapid charge ability when not in motion

Cons

  • Limited electric range
  • Limited availability
  • Cold temps further limit electric range

American LandMaster EV Crew

The EV Crew is one of three electric utility vehicles offered by American LandMaster, and the only four-seater.  It only features two-wheel drive.

This impressive battery range helps to offset the downside that it only gets around 16 horsepower and is limited in the terrain and steepness of hills it can comfortably traverse.

American LandMaster offers a number of upgraded options for this model, including the choice of a conversion steel dump bed over the standard poly bed and the option upgrade to an extended-range battery pack with a range of 65 miles.

You can read more about American Landmaster and the overall quality of their UTVs in this Landmaster UTV Reviews guide.

Its compact size makes it an excellent trail and backwoods option.

It is powered by a 72V system with around 38 horsepower, and offers both two-wheel and four-wheel drive.

While its battery range is limited to 16 miles, it features an onboard charger so it can venture farther after being charged in the field.

Volcon Stag

The Volcon Stag is one of the newer models in the electric utility vehicle industry, and you can tell.  It features an impressive, modern design and some of the best performance you’ll find in an electric model.

This electric four seater is powered by a 107 KW motor with an output of 125 horsepower and a top speed of 80 mph.  It utilizes General Motors’ electric propulsion system and even outclasses most of the gas-powered models performance-wise.

It also gives riders the ability to choose between Eco mode for more power or Sport mode for more speed and acceleration.  Riders can also add Overboost mode as an upgrade to increase the output to 140 horsepower.

While this electric UTV may sound pretty unbeatable, you’ll need to be prepared to really open the wallet at a starting price of $39,999.  And while it can be reserved, the first units won’t be shipped out until this summer.

Pros
