Their stylish builds, rich colors and reasonable price tags really make them stand out.

But similar to less familiar models like Tracker ATVs and Massimo ATVs who are just finding their foothold in the industry, potential buyers want to know how the CForces stack up before opening their billfolds.

This guide of CFMoto ATV reviews will assist you in that by detailing all six CForces, including their:

Engine & Transmission

With its 400cc engine and around 31 horsepower, it’s the least powerful of the CForce line.  But the engine will not disappoint.  It has plenty of low-end power to motor around light trails and most terrains.

It does lack some grunt in high gear.  It will get you up a hill no problem, but you’ll feel it running out of steam on some grades.

Like many CForce models, it does suffer from delayed throttle response at low acceleration due to the stock clutch setup.  But past the 15 mph mark, no issues.

Suspension & Steering

While basic, the suspension is impressive for an entry-level vehicle.  The independent rear suspension does a good job of providing a smooth, soft ride.  But you will feel bumps and holes to some degree.

The lack of power steering is noticeable with the CForce 400 being a little tough to steer, even at speed.

Tires & Brakes

The tires don’t look as nice as the rest of the CForce models with steel wheels and no rims.

And the 24-inch generic stock tires are likely the weakest link in this machine, with a lack of traction in soft terrain and at high speeds.

The braking is excellent, with the hydraulic discs easily slowing the vehicle in any terrain.

Final Thoughts

The CForce 400 makes for an excellent entry level machine.  While its lack of power steering and winch contribute to it being the cheapest model, it features the same body size and build as that of the CForce 500.

You can read more about this model’s drawbacks in this guide to the common problems experienced with the CForce 400.

Engine & Transmission

Powered by a 495cc engine with an output of 38 horsepower, the CForce 500 is fully capable of tackling tougher trails with its sufficient low-end power.

Slightly bigger and more powerful than the CForce 400, it won’t run into any of the same issues running out of steam in high gear on steep hills.

A lack of throttle response during low acceleration leaves riders wanting more off the line, but it offers excellent mid-range acceleration past the initial slog to 15 mph and can reach speeds upwards of 57 mph.

Suspension & Steering

With the same suspension as the CForce 400, the 500 is not going to blow you away in terms of smoothness on the trail.  But the ride is soft enough for what you’d expect from an entry-level ATV, soaking up chop in the trail adequately.

While it’s easy to tell the difference in the addition of power steering with this model, the assist is just enough that you still get plenty of feedback on the trail so riding remains fun.

It can feel a little overly responsive on hard surfaces at times if not gripping tightly and paying attention though.

Tires & Brakes

With alloy wheels and rims, the slightly bigger 25-inch stock tires do look nicer than those of the CForce 400.

But they suffer from the same lack of traction, making slicker terrains like mud and snow tricky.  And even at high speeds on dirt, their stability can be a little sketchy.

The braking is solid and can stop the vehicle on a dime in most terrains.

Final Thoughts

Another great entry level option, the CForce 500 offers more all around ability than its 400 sibling with a slight increase in power and tire size, and the addition of power steering and a winch.

It makes for a good multipurpose machine, able to tackle tougher trails and work tasks, or simply ride the kids around the property.

CForce 600 & 600 Touring

The CForce 600 and CForce 600 Touring only differ in that the 600 Touring is slightly longer, taller, and heavier to account for being a two-up model with the inclusion of a rear passenger seat.  The rest of their specs are identical.

Weight600 – 870 lbs600 Touring – 915 lbs

Engine & Transmission

Powered by a 580cc engine with around 45 horsepower, the CForce 600 can handle just about anything you throw at it.

It performs well on the trail, with selectable four wheel drive with locking differential able to power it through the roughest terrains.  And it offers a towing capacity of 1,000 lbs.

But like other CForce models, its main flaw is a lack of throttle response when accelerating under 15 mph, which can give the sense that it is underpowered.  Don’t let that fool you, as its mid and high range acceleration and speed is excellent.

Tires & Brakes

The alloy wheels, rims, and 25-inch stock tires certainly look the part of a vehicle made for going offroad.

But like those of the Cforce 400 and 500 models, the tires leave plenty to be desired in terms of traction.  This can cause issues in mud and snow, but can also make high speeds in dirt feel a little iffy.

Thankfully, this is the last CForce model whose tires are a little suspect.  The brakes are solid and enable quick stopping in any terrain.

Suspension and Steering

The suspension offers 6.7 inches of travel in front and 8.6 inches in back, slightly less than most of the competition in the 600cc class.

The independent suspension offers good ride quality and owners find some flexibility in the preload adjustable shocks.

As a bigger and bulkier ATV than most in its class, the turn radius of the CForce 600 is actually pretty good and enables easy enough three-point turning on trails.

The power steering is excellent, offering just the right amount of assistance to give riders sufficient feedback on the trail but not so much that the steering feels jumpy.

Final Thoughts

The CForce 600 holds its own in a 600cc class full of big-name competitors.

While it weighs in on the heavier and bulkier end, it performs well enough that it is pretty hard to beat at its price.

Engine & Transmission

The CForce 800 XC and its big 800 cc, V-Twin engine give a big jump up in performance from the smaller models.

At an output of 62 horsepower, this model lacks nowhere in the power department.  The engine runs incredibly smooth at all levels of power, with engine vibration barely noticeable.

This thing is a beast on the trail, and for a 1,000 lb. machine it handles exceptionally well.

Suspension & Steering

The 800 XC features a more aggressive-style suspension system, with the trailing arm suspension in back making it ideal for any rough trail riding.

While the suspension is a little stiff, it can be adjusted to your liking via the fully adjustable gas shocks.

It offers 11 inches of ground clearance and plenty of room to clear larger obstacles on the trail.

The power steering is excellent, offering the perfect level of assistance for any terrain.

Tires & Brakes

The alloy wheels and rims look amazing, and the 26-inch radial tires are a big step up in quality from those of the smaller models.

They offer plenty of traction and stability in most terrains.  The braking system remains plenty capable of stopping this big ATV on any surface.

Final Thoughts

The CForce 800 XC is another two-up model, featuring a rear passenger seat.

It makes a big jump up from the smaller models in terms of power and performance.  Couple this with a more aggressive suspension system and this model makes an ideal trail ATV.

Engine & Transmission

Boasting a 963 cc, V-Twin engine with an output of around 79 horsepower and a host of off-road focused accessories, the CForce 1000 Overland is meant to tackle the roughest of terrains.

Like other models, the throttle response is delayed at lower RPMs which makes low-speed trail riding a tad tricky, but this subsides around 15 mph and the engine shines as you reach mid to high speeds.

Though it has plenty of ability to power through rough terrains, the engine is well-rounded enough to make riding of any kind ideal.  With all that power, the engine is still smooth with minimal vibration.

Suspension & Steering

As you’d expect, the Overland is equipped with a suspension that enables it to handle the most aggressive trail riding.

The rear trailing arm suspension keeps the ride comfortable in rough terrain, and adjustable gas shocks enable riders to tailor the system to their preferred setting.

The power steering provides plenty of assistance to make navigating rough terrain easy, but not so much the steering becomes jumpy in more simple terrain.

Tires & Brakes

The alloy wheels and rims give the tires a stylish look.  And the 27-inch CST Clincher Off-road tires are not lacking in traction or stability in any terrain.

The braking system offers plenty of stopping power, even on slicker surfaces.

Final Thoughts

With a rugged but sporty look and plenty of accessories to match, the CForce 1000 Overland is meant to tackle the roughest of terrains.

Even as one of the heaviest ATVs on the market, its powerful engine and excellent low-end torque make it an excellent trail riding option.

It ranks towards the top of the list of 2023’s best 1000cc ATVs.
