About The CFMoto UForce 800

The UForce 800 was CFMoto’s mid-size utility/rec model, produced from around 2013 to 2022, when it was phased out leaving the UForce 600 and UForce 1000 as CFMoto’s only current utility side-by-sides.

It offered a number features that set it apart from the other UForce models of the time including sportier body styling, a mid-mount engine, and high back bucket seats in place of the standard bench seating.

For those looking for a utility rig with a bit more recreational appeal than the other models, the UForce 800 was a great choice with its excellent top-end speed and agility.

But while there were plenty more positives about the UForce 800, it also came with a number of noticeable drawbacks that played a part in it eventually being phased out after 2022.

Build Quality & Performance

Engine

The UForce 800 is equipped with a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 800cc V-Twin engine.

The engine provides a max power output of 62 horsepower, and is loaded with power and low-end torque to make it an excellent trail riding option.

It has zero issues tackling tough terrain, making light work of mud, shallow water, rutted paths, and steep hills.

While the engine is high quality, it’s a mid-mount engine which leads to more heat finding its way into the cab than models with the engine located further back.  

The engine location also leads to it being extremely loud in the cab, making it hard to hear your passengers when accelerating or at speed.

Another drawback with this model comes in the form of its fuel tank, which is among the smallest you’ll find among UForces and other comparable models at 6.6 gallons.

But the performance this engine provides are tough to beat for the price.

Drivetrain

Mated to the UForce 800’s engine is an automatic CVT transmission, which makes for easy and smooth shifting.

This model offers both 2WD and 4WD via a switch on the dash, along with a locking front differential for added traction when out on the trail or working.

It also offers both a Low and High gear, along with Neutral, Reverse, and Park.

For those who go with this model, it’s highly recommended to use the parking brake instead of the “Park” setting when the vehicle is stopped.

The stock transmission doesn’t seem to like the prolonged pressure of the Park setting, and if used for long periods over and over it can lead to the gear shift being tough to shift.

Suspension

Independent Double A-Arms make up both the front and rear suspension system in the UForce 800, making for 9 inches of travel.

It’s also equipped with oil-dampened shocks that are preload adjustable so you can choose the best setting for your riding style and the terrain you’ll be tackling.

The rear suspension is rounded out by a sway bar for added stability.

The suspension set-up is meant to give it the ability to tackle off-road terrain and to make it comfortable for you while riding.

But the suspension system is known to be a little stiff, even fully adjusted.

The max ground clearance of 10.2 inches is good enough to keep this model from bottoming very often on the trail, but there’s also a skid plate that runs the underside for added protection.

Tires & Brakes

The UForce 800 is outfitted with cast alloy wheels and 26-inch CST Abuzz tires in the front and rear.

These tires are as solid as they come and provide excellent traction in pretty much any terrain, though sand is known to slow it down a bit.

There are hydraulic disc brakes located on all four wheels, able to provide excellent stopping power at any speed or on any surface.

Dimensions

The UForce 800 is built to resemble a big, bulky utility model like the rest of the line.

But while it looks big, it actually has a smaller overall size than most comparable UTVs.

Its width is narrower than most utility side-by-sides in its class by around two inches.

And while a good-sized model with good power and torque to it, the UForce 800 offers the lowest towing capacity in the line at 1,205 lbs.

And the rear dumping cargo bed offers the ability to haul up to 600 lbs, and comes with a nitrogen gas spring assist lift.

Like the rest of the UForce models, the UForce 800 comes flush with a number of accessories that add to its appeal for the price.

The UForce 800 also has some drawbacks, and tends to suffer from some of the same issues found in the CFMoto UForce 1000.

  • The location of the engine leads to excessive heat in the cab area and under the seats, making it uncomfortable to ride for long periods on warm days.
  • The engine location also makes the cab area very loud when accelerating or riding at speed.
  • It offers one of the lower towing capacities in its class.
  • One of the smallest fuel tanks in its class, leading to the need to refuel more often.
  • For a little less money, the UForce 600 actually offers better working ability which is one of the reasons this model was phased out.
  • There’s not much storage space.
  • The stock suspension is known to be a little stiff when riding off-road.

CFMoto UForce 800 Top Speed

The UForce 800 can hit a top speed of around 65 mph depending upon the number of riders and terrain you’re riding.

Some owners report hitting speeds of up to 68 mph in the right conditions, while some say their UForce 800 can barely top 60 mph.

If you’ve got a newer model in good condition, you should be able to hit 65 mph, which stacks up well when compared with the top speed of the UForce 1000.
